The Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid “Legends Pack” is a set of four shoes that not only pay tribute to four legends of the game of baseball, but also feature several eye-catching and well-coordinated colorways. Players that are commemorated include past legends (Nolan Ryan and Bo Jackson), recently retired (Ken Griffey Jr.), and currently active players (Albert Pujols).
On the pair paying tribute to Nolan Ryan, obsidian, white and red are used throughout the shoe to pay tribute to the team he’s most associated with, The Texas Rangers. The date 5/1/91 is also printed on the shoe to mark the date he threw his legendary 7th no-hitter. Bo Jackson’s pair features a colorway that uses tones of the Kansas City Royals. The number ’448′ is also branded on the sneaker to mark the 448 foot home run Bo Hit in the 1989 MLB All-Star Game. The third pair pays tribute to recently retired and future hall-of-famer Ken Griffey Jr. The famous ’600′ logo is combined with the colors of the Seattle Mariners to pay tribute to the achievements Ken Griffey Jr. accomplished and the team he will always be associated with. The fifth and final pair features the red and white of the St. Louis Cardinal’s Albert Pujols. In addition, “The Machine” is printed on the shoe to commemorate the machine-like performances of Albert Pujols. As mentioned above, these 4 pairs are now available through eastbay.

Tomorrow, July 17th, 2010 marks the release of the second area-themed Nike Air Force 1 of the year in the form of the “Hamptons” Nike Air Force 1 (first is “Jones Beach” Nike Air Force 1). This particular Air Force 1 obviously pays tribute to the “Hamptons” area and features a map of it on the bottom of the translucent sole. Above that, white calfskin covers the majority of the base, while white perforated leather is located on the side panels. Other Hamptons inspired elements include a signature laurel leaf H crest embroidered on the tongue, and the words ‘Good Ground’ on the foot bed of the left and right sneakers. The latter elements pay tribute to the original name given to the area that was once populated by native communities. Look for the Nike Air Force 1 “Hamptons” to your nearest Nike retailer tomorrow.
